Garden club members care for the rose garden planted on the south end of the Art Museum grounds. During the growing season members care for the roses by pruning, fertilizing, watering and managing the health of the roses as needed. To volunteer, contact the chair of the Horticulture Committee.
ART IN BLOOM
Art in Bloom is a premier event for the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Garden Club is a primary contributor to the success of this event. Volunteer opportunities exist to assist with guests at this event, staff the Membership and Education Booths, and support the Silent Auction, the club's primary fund raiser for the year. To volunteer for Art in Bloom, contact the Art in Bloom Committee volunteer coordinators.
LAKESHORE STATE PARK
The Garden Club is partnering with the Plant a Prairie initiative to complete a section of the Gathering Circle, an area used as an outdoor classroom for educational programs for children and adults. Volunteer opportunities include planting in the spring and offering ongoing help to maintain the plants. Contact the chair of the Landscape Committee to volunteer.
PLANTS FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
As a member of the Milwaukee District Garden Clubs, the Milwaukee Art Museum garden club participates in a community outreach project each spring to help Habitat for Humanity home owners plant container gardens for their homes. Garden club members donate plants from their gardens, donate or purchase containers and annuals, and assist homeowners in choosing plants and creating their container gardens. More information will follow with contact information and the date for 2018.
